Surgeons like a Wii warm up before theatre
Playing videos games that require delicate and precise hand movements, like those found on the Nintendo Wii can help surgeons tool control.
This theory was tested out on 8 trainees and apparently by playing games like Marble Mania the wannabe docs can increase their hand control by up to 50%.
“The fine hand control required to play these games acts as a warm up and hones scalpel skills” the Banner Good Samaritan Medical Centre team claim.
It seems that Nintendo keep finding niche after niche, what next?
